DESCRIPTION: ISFOC participates in the INDAGA SOLAR project, whose main objective is to improve, digitise and transform the operation and maintenance processes of the photovoltaic sector through research, implementation, and the use of emerging technologies and techniques from Industry 4.0 (Digital Twin, Cloud Computing, Artificial Intelligence, distributed IoT sensors, computer vision, energy prediction algorithms, etc.), acknowledging that the photovoltaic industry has become a key player in achieving the national and European energy transition. All this will be done in line with the transition objectives set by the European Union in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and at a national level to address new research and innovations that will continue to increase the sector's competitiveness and, therefore, the economic, social, and territorial benefits this sector has demonstrated.

To achieve this objective, the project aims to cover the following specific goals:

  • Integrate Industry 4.0 technologies (Digital Twin, Cloud Computing, Artificial Intelligence, distributed IoT sensors, computer vision, energy prediction algorithms, automated decision-making, etc.) to improve performance, quality, and safety in operation and maintenance procedures.

  • Promote the digital transformation of the PV sector, contributing to achieving energy transition, sustainable development, and climate neutrality goals.

  • Demonstrate the benefits of integrating innovations and Industry 4.0 technologies to improve quality, performance, and safety, as well as reduce the environmental footprint resulting from the sector's operations.

The INDAGA SOLAR project is part of the call for Aid for the Support of Innovative Business Groups (AEI) from the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism (MINCOTUR), as well as the 2021 call within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan. The main objective of these aids is to strengthen business groups and improve the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises.

The INDAGA SOLAR project is subsidised by the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism (MINCOTUR)
