DESCRIPTION: ISFOC participates in the DRONES4CIP project, whose main objective is to develop an Automated System of Autonomous Drone Fleets for the protection of critical infrastructures in commercial ports. The aim is to develop an artificial intelligence system that coordinates the drone fleet. The system will automatically perform the analysis and localisation of incidents and structural damage using vision and artificial intelligence techniques. The system will be completed with an energy generation system based on renewable energies; wind and photovoltaic, with energy storage capacity for the power supply of the drones. The entire energy system will be integrated into a drone landing platform equipped with a recharging system to which the drone will connect once it lands and can recharge its electric battery to resume flight and surveillance tasks. To achieve this objective, the project aims to cover the following specific goals:
- Development of an Automated System of Autonomous Drone Fleets for the Protection of Critical Infrastructures in Commercial Ports.
- Development of an automated charging system using RES: photovoltaic and wind.
- The system will automatically perform the analysis and localisation of incidents and structural damage using vision and artificial intelligence techniques.
The DRONES4CIP project is part of the Programme for subsidies aimed at promoting Regional Cooperation in R&D 2014-2020 (FEDER INNTERCONECTA Programme). These aids are part of the State R&D&I Programme aimed at the Challenges of Society. The scope of the DRONES4CIP project is closely linked to the scientific-technological priorities contemplated within the Social Challenge 8: "Security, Protection and Defence" of the State Plan for Scientific, Technical and Innovation Research 2013-2016.
