DESCRIPTION: ISFOC leads the BUILT4ENERGY project, whose main objective is the development of an energy solution for integration into buildings to allow for the on-site generation of electricity and heat, with the ability to intelligently manage energy by selecting the energy vector to generate according to the predicted energy demands of the building. The project covers key aspects such as the integration of PV technology in buildings, the recovery of residual heat for use in DHW systems, thermal energy storage in phase change materials, and comprehensive control management to optimise energy use.

Furthermore, an intelligent energy management system based on a hybrid electricity and/or heat generator will be developed, which will be integrated as a constructive element in the glazed facades of buildings, including advancements in energy storage systems with phase change materials and the development of heat pumps for efficient thermal component management of the system.

The BUILT4ENERGY project is part of the public aid call for public-private collaboration projects, from the State Programme to Promote Scientific-Technical Research and its Transfer, of the State Plan for Scientific, Technical and Innovation Research 2021-2023, within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan. The main objective of these grants is to advance the incorporation of scientific-technical knowledge and results that enable the validation and pre-competitive development of new technologies, products and services, creating the right context to stimulate the generation of a critical mass in interdisciplinary R&D&I for their application, transfer, problem-solving and generation of results both in the technological and innovation trajectories of companies and in the market.

These projects aim to mobilise private investment, generate employment, and improve the country's technological balance, as well as strengthen the international leadership capacity of the Spanish Science, Technology and Innovation System and its agents, contributing to improving the competitiveness of the business sector.

The BUILT4ENERGY project is funded by the Ministry of Science and Innovation.
