The project has being granted for 4 years, from 2009 to 2012.

This project involves, apart from ISFOC, the Fraunhofer Institute of Solar Energy (Germany), the companies Concentrix (Germany) and Isofotón (Spain), The National Electricity Office-ONE from Morocco, and the Water Resources Ministry of Egypt.

The main goal of this proposal is to unite the two owners of the most developed CPV Technologies so that, as leaders, they can carry out research together for finding new applications of the SPV systems. Apart from opening new markets, new potential problems will be found that may arise from the installation in new sites beyond Europe, a fact that will assure the components' reliability. This project will also try to improve the technologies of the members—Isofotón and Concentrix—by accelerating the training curve that the CPV must follow in order to be competitive in the current markets and, in that way, dramatically reduce the cost in no more than 3 to 4 years’ time.

Establishing CPV Systems in remote areas, where the radiation is quite high but where harder weather conditions are common and the deployment of installations is rather difficult, will certainly contribute to raising the progress of this technology.
