DESCRIPTION: ISFOC participates in the METAVERSO II project, a continuation of the “Metaverso” project developed in the 2022 call. The challenge of this second phase is to carry out a pilot project that, based on the research tasks carried out during the first and second phases, facilitates the creation of a predictive maintenance platform for the ISFOC photovoltaic plant installed in Puertollano. This platform will allow for the creation of a collaborative virtual environment in the form of a control centre in the metaverse, integrating both IoT devices and platforms, as well as Artificial Intelligence techniques to facilitate fault prediction and consequently reduce and optimise the cost of corrective and preventive maintenance.
To achieve this objective, the project aims to cover the following specific goals:
- Researching the application of virtual platforms in the metaverse, integrating real-time streaming systems, IoT platforms, and artificial intelligence algorithms, identifying the functional improvements these new systems will provide and evaluating the economic cost of their implementation compared to existing monitoring and maintenance systems.
- Implementing an analytical and predictive maintenance solution, integrating IoT technology (sensor networks and Edge-Cloud platform) to carry out advanced and predictive analytics (both to have a real-time fault predictive model and to have all the data centralised) within the framework of a virtual control centre for the photovoltaic sector based in the Metaverse.
- Carrying out a pilot project that allows for the implementation of both a virtual control centre and an analytical and predictive maintenance solution for photovoltaic plants.
The METAVERSO II project is part of the 2023 call for Aid for the Support of Innovative Business Groups (AEI) from the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism (MINCOTUR), within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan. The main objective of these aids is to strengthen business groups and improve the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises.
