Members of the ERASMUS Plus Project Visit ISFOC

ISFOC receives a visit from members of the European Erasmus Plus project focused on teaching aspects related to renewable energy. The professors and researchers visiting ISFOC come from three European universities (Northumbria University in Newcastle, United Kingdom; Università Politecnica delle Marche in Ancona, Italy; and Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha in Ciudad Real, Spain) and five Latin American universities (Ciudad Universitaria Jose Antonio Echevarría, Cujae, Havana and Universidad de Oriente, Santiago de Cuba, Cuba; Universidade Federal de Itajubá and Universidade Federal da Bahia, Brazil; and Universidad de Santander, Colombia).

This visit is part of the scheduled project meetings that professors and researchers from all these universities, whose field of study for some includes solar energy, have held throughout this week in Ciudad Real, with the visit to the ISFOC facilities and laboratories being the final highlight of this meeting.

The professors and researchers had the opportunity to personally visit ISFOC's technical facilities: both their pioneering CPV plants, which have been operational since 2008, and their climatic laboratories for the qualification of CPV and PV components, and the CPV Helios 3198 solar simulator (S@V) that ISFOC has for characterisation and evaluation of the technologies.

Throughout the visit, they were accompanied by specialised staff from the centre, who guided them through the facilities and addressed all questions and doubts that arose concerning the technology. All of this took place in a relaxed atmosphere where opinions and impressions were shared with the visitors, who showed great interest in the activities conducted at ISFOC.
